Pringle of Scotland’s origins lie in the relatively modest surroundings of the Scottish Borders. Yet Pringle is an in¬ternational brand with many defining stages in it’s evolu¬tion and therefore its heritage relates to multiple, sometimes opposing, contexts.
NORD are fascinat¬ed with context as much of our research illustrates. We begin projects by searching for the origin of things and thereby try to uncover an essential character or an under¬lying basis. For Pringle we were interested in how collections of objects and surface treat¬ments within an interior can make links to other contexts; to transport the mind of the customer to another place. Our title ‘Other Place’ for the roll out brand identity for Pringle stores suggests the creation of an alternative and unexpected experience of place.
We believe that placing emphasis on these qualities within our approach to a bespoke archi¬tectural solution for Pringle of Scotland would establish a unique, clear and bold store identity that can be tailored for individual spaces and create brand continuity.
