Alastair Forbes

Alastair studied Architecture at the University of Strathclyde, which included an exchange scholarship to ETH Zurich in 1999 and gained his post graduate diploma in 2003. Alastair worked for Elder and Cannon Architects prior to joining NORD at its inception in 2003.
Alastair has designed, coordinated and managed many high profile projects ranging from product design, residential projects and large commercial developments. He is also experienced in the management of multi-disciplinary design teams and in working with a variety of client bodies. Alastair has been a key contributor to the growth and on going success of NORD. He was responsible for the Bell-Simpson House from early design through all stages to site supervision and post contract administration. This was a breakthrough project for NORD in terms of clarity of design, bespoke detailing and quality of implementation and in 2005 the project won the Architects Journal First Prize for Best Building Under £250,000 in the UK.
Alastair is currently responsible for a range of projects currently under development at NORD. Alastair’s role in leading projects involves the design development at each stage, client liaison and internal resource management.
Alastair is currently a 2nd Year design studio tutor for the under-graduate course at the University of Strathclyde
